International House

What is the International House?

Embrace diversity and promote understanding as you learn in our multicultural learning community.  International House (I-House) offers you the opportunity to live with a student from another culture, increasing understanding as you experience Michigan Tech together.  Members work together to adjust to college life and build a strong community.  They share their cultures through conversations, coffeehouses, Parade of Nations, and much more. I-House is located on the 2nd floor of West McNair Hall.

What does I-House have to offer?

As with any residence hall area, the cost of room and board inclues heat, water, cable TV, internet connection and local telephone charges and in I-House there is a kitchen for your extra cooking needs and inexpensive laundry facilities. Additionally living in I-House there are many educational and social activities. 
This Learning Community provides a warm and open environment for students from all corners of the world to share their stories, learn from one another and to spread their understanding and positive global perspective to the rest of Michigan Tech.
International House works with International Programs and Services (IPS) to better assist all students. To learn more about IPS, please visit them at International Programs and Services .

  • What is expected of I-House residents?

    • Live in a co-ed environment
    • Be a positive member of your residence hall community
    • Participate in events
    • Complete the requirements of your Learning Community Agreement
    • Pay a $30.00 per semester fee that is used to support additional programming, activities and staff
    • Meet new people, learn new things, and have a great time at Tech
