What is the Leadership Learning Community?

The Leadership Learning Community (LLC) will be a new residence hall community where students can learn about and develop leadership and are encouraged to put their new skills into practice. The community is designed to be a fun, dynamic environment that helps students grow academically and relationally. The LLC will be located on the 3rd Floor of Douglas Houghton Hall.

What are some typical LLC activities?

As a participant in the LLC program, you will have the opportunity to get involved in numerous social and educational activities:

Social Opportunities

  • Safe House, the Residence Hall Halloween Haunted House.
  • Competing in Homecoming and Winter Carnival Events
  • Many social events held in hall such as movie nights, cookouts, campus events and a team based challenge course
  • Participate in service opportunities on campus and off

 

Educational Opportunities

  • Leadership Symposium: an annual event held on campus for leadership building 
  • Talking with your Program Coordinator to complete an academic plan
  • Leadership building activities

 

What is expected of LLC participants?

  • Live in a co-ed environment
  • Be a positive member of your residence hall community
  • Participate in events
  • Complete the requirements of your Learning Community Agreement
  • Pay a $30.00 per semester fee that is used to support additional programming, activities and staff
  • Meet new people, learn new things, and have a great time at Tech
