Get Your Books
The Campus Bookstore is the University’s full-service, on-campus store and your source for textbooks. The Campus Bookstore is conveniently located on the first floor of the Memorial Union Building.
Each semester, the average first-year student spends $400 to $600 on textbooks (Used books are offered whenever possible, and buying used books will save you 25 percent or more). If you purchase your books online, you will get the books you need, and they will be waiting for you to pick up when you arrive on campus. Or, if you prefer, we can deliver them to your residence hall. If you would rather stop in, we have friendly staff available to assist you in any way. Visit our website at www.bookstore.mtu.edu for more information.
Cash, check, Express Cash, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express are accepted for all purchases. For your convenience, financial aid refunds can be used to purchase textbooks with proper ID. If you are planning to use your Express Cash to purchase your books, it is helpful to plan in advance. Consider an amount sufficient to cover the first semester’s books and some minor incidentals so you are prepared to make your initial deposit. Additional deposits are very easy to make.
The Campus Bookstore has a satellite operation, called University Images, located at the Student Development Complex. This store carries a very broad selection of apparel and Michigan Tech logo items but does not carry textbooks.
If your parents would like to help you purchase items at the Campus Store but don’t want to give you their credit card, you can get limited access by filling out a credit card authorization form at www.bookstore.mtu.edu. Choose the Campus Bookstore link. Return the form by mail or fax by August 19. We will keep it on file through the academic year. You must present a current photo ID to use this service.
