Logging On

When you were admitted to Michigan Tech, you were sent an Action Packet which included information regarding your MTU ID number (M number), username, ISO (Initial Sign On) password, and your email address.

• Your username and ISO password are neccessary to log on to your Michigan Tech Avenue, HuskyMail email account, and Banweb. The first time you log into the Avenue, you should change your password. To log into the Avenue, go to avenue.mtu.edu.

• Your ISO starting password is either your social security number or Michigan Tech ID number (M number). See your Action Packet for the details. You are encouraged to change your password.

• Your Michigan Tech ID number will be needed to obtain your Tech ID card. This number is used by administrative offices on campus. This number is used by administrative offices on campus, on campus forms, and in classes that use "bubble sheets" for testing. Also, if you pay your bill online via e-check, you will need to enter the last four digits of your ID number for verification. Because you will need to use your Michigan Tech ID number (M number) often during your time here as a student, it is helpful to memorize this number.

• Your Michigan Tech email address is where we will send important messages. This is your official email address while you are a student at Michigan Tech. Access your HuskyMail through your Avenue at avenue.mtu.edu.

Be sure to check your HuskyMail and Avenue frequently throughout the summer. Many offices at Michigan Tech will only communicate with you online. Notification of your financial aid, fall class schedule, and billing statement will be available on your Avenue or via your HuskyMail account.
