Undergraduate Annual Expenses

As you start your first year at Michigan Tech we suggest that you establish a budget that includes all your monetary needs—tuition, room and board, fees, books, and supplies. Even if all of your expenses are covered through financial aid, you will need some cash during your first month. If you have a work-study position, there can be some lag time before you get that first check, and it can be a few weeks before loans and scholarships are disbursed. We don’t want you to struggle your first month here, so plan ahead. Please note that due to the uncertainty of state appropriations, below are 2006-2007 expenses. Actual figures for the 2007-2008 academic year will be posted once they are available. You can find them at the Student Information link on the Michigan Tech Accounting websitewww.admin.mtu.edu/acct or at the Michigan Tech Financial Aid website www.finaid.mtu.edu. An estimated breakdown of fees is also available at these sites.
